Our marketing philosophy.
We at Com-Pair Services do not consider ourselves in competition with other traditional broadband internet providers. Our goal is to fill in the gaps by providing service where others cannot! So, if you are able to get broadband internet service from your local phone company (DSL) or your local Cable TV provider please contact them first. If you have tried them already, and they said no then I hope we can help!!
Our disclaimer.
It is a popular misconception that "wireless" is a form of magic, without limits and bounds! While we wish this were true, it isn't. So with this in mind we carefully monitor and manage every aspect of what we do in an effort to provide the best possible service to all of our customers. There will be times when system latency will cause "stutters" while playing high performance online games and extra delays when using VoIP phones.
How do I find out if I can get Wireless Internet from Com-Pair?
There is a "catch". From your home or place of business we will need to position an antenna to point to one of our transmitter sites. This antenna MUST be able to "see" the transmitter with NOTHING in the way (trees, buildings, etc). This is what we call "clear line-of-sight".
And how does this system work?
In our Redding office we have a fiber connection directly to the Internet backbone. From there, we microwave that connection to the top of a mountain west of Redding. From there we send our signals to other mountains throughout Northern California and to our customers. Each of our wireless customers has an antenna connected to their computer (or network) via a special wireless receiver. This provides instant access to the Internet with speeds not otherwise available in many areas.
Many have asked if weather creates any special problems that degrade performance. There is one known condition that can cause loss of signal, that is snow! If conditions are right, snow can build up on your antenna blocking the signal. For most of our customers this is a very rare occurrence.
Others have asked if Com-Pair restricts the amount of data that can be uploaded or downloaded per month. The answer is no. All of our accounts are unlimited access. Our system also allows you to have the same bandwidth uploading or downloading.

Installation charges: $99 for 36 month Service Agreement, $199 for 24 month Service Agreement or $299 for 12 month Service Agreement. An early termination fee of $175 applies to all service plans.
Static IP addresses for any of the above accounts are $5 per month per address. Discount rates for subnets (small blocks) of addresses are available as well.
Existing customers may request these prices by adding a 12 month extension to their current service agreement. These requests must be made in writing, and can be submitted via Email to accounting@com-pair.net (Subject to availability)

Domain Hosting...........................................$15 / month + $60.00 setup fee. This includes optional Virus Scanned Email with 25 Email accounts and 35 Meg of web space.
Domain Registration.....................................$75 ($15 paid to the Registrar, $60 setup fee billed by Com-Pair.net)
