Update for July 21, 2008
As a result of the Motion Fire there has been no AC power on South Fork Mountain for the past 2 weeks. We have been running completely on battery and backup generators that have required refueling twice daily. Several times the road was closed, preventing us from refueling. This resulted in several complete outages on our Wireless Internet System. Today PG&E restored power to South Fork Mountain after replacing 13 damaged/destroyed power poles, and things should now return to normal.
We would like to express our thanks to all the Fire Fighters that did their best to protect all the transmitter sites on South Fork Mountain. Their efforts were a complete success!
We would also like to thank our many customers for their patience, support and offers to help!
Our South Fork Webcam captured the fire as it reached the summit about 3:30AM Friday July 11th.
